We are cancelling this field trip due to the presence of sheep in the area. The sheep are introduced into the area for fine fuel control, sadly they have eaten most of the plants we were hoping to see and degraded the edges of the trail. On this walk led by Emma and Christopher, we will be exploring the well-known Thomas Creek along the lesser-known No Name Trail which heads roughly Northwest from the main parking lot.Wildflowers should be plentiful and we can expect to see a number of genera including Allium, Calochortus, Eriogonum, Penstemon, Muilla, Viola, Phacelia, Erigeron and Hydrophyllum.
Expect between 2-4 miles of hiking with a fairly consistent elevation gain for the first mile or so.
Recommend bringing sturdy shoes, water, snacks to carry you through the hike and hiking poles.
Meet in the Main Thomas Creek Trail parking lot off N Timberline Road by 9am. 39.3942375535659, -119.8380549635609
