    Rocky hillsides with clay soils, moderately steep to almost flat, east aspect.

    South facing rock outcrop near the top of a hill.  Habitat is a mix of juniper and mountain big sagebrush.

    Near the summit of Peavine Mountain in an area that was very stony.

    Claytonia umbellata in bloom. Lewisia redivida in leaf. On March 24, 2012.

    White clay badlands, valley bottom
    Species List:
    In Bloom: Mentzelia teihmii, Frasera gypsicola, Penstemon immanifestus, Eriogonum darrovii, Polygala subspinosa, Lobelia cardinalis (at Hot Creek Spring only) Past Bloom: Castilleja sp., yellow flax, Frasera albomarginatus, Physaria chambersii. Not yet blooming: Commandra umbellata.
