December 2006:

Henderson regular meeting (December 4th). 2nd Annual Holiday Potluck.
Reno 3rd annual Christmas potluck (December 7th).
November 2006: (ANNUAL MEETING AND ELECTIONS)

Reno regular meeting (November 2nd). Mark Ellis - Margaret Williams Research Grant recipient - will talk on his work with the Las Vegas buckwheat, Eriogonum corymbosum var. nilesii.
Henderson regular meeting (November 6th). Von Winkel a Restoration Ecologist will speak on the Las Vegas Springs Preserve, Clark County, Nevada.
October 2006: (NOMINATIONS FOR ELECTIONS)

Henderson regular meeting (October 2nd). James Morefield, President of the Nevada Native Plant Society, will speak on Rare Plants and the Nevada Native Plant Society.
Reno regular meeting (October 5th). David Polivy of the Sierra Business Council (SBC), Truckee, CA, will talk on the agency’s regional approach to planning for the future of the Sierra Nevada region. Founded in 1994 and based in Truckee, California, the SBC views environmental quality as key to the Sierra Nevada’s economic prosperity, and natural resource conservation as essential to building regional wealth. SBC is a resource for business leaders, government officials, conservation groups and other decision-makers seeking solutions to local and regional challenges.
September 2006:

Henderson regular meeting (Tuesday September 5th). Moved due to holiday. Seth Shanahan, Southern Nevada Water Authority, will present Botanical Inventory and Ecological Restoration Projects along the Las Vegas Wash, Clark County, Nevada.
Reno regular meeting (September 7th). Mark Vollmer will give tips on photography.
July 2006:

Henderson regular meeting (July 10th). Rescheduled from the 3rd to accommodate the 4th of July weekend. USGS Ecologist Todd Esque will present "The Joshua Tree: Is our Mojave Desert Icon in trouble?".
June 2006:

Henderson regular meeting (June 5th). Members will bring in slides and digital photos for a presentation of this year's spring wildflowers. As always, members are encouraged to bring in plant specimens for identification and general botanical appreciation.
May 2006:

Henderson regular meeting (May 1st). David Charlet, Professor of Biology with the Community College of Southern Nevada will give a presentation on The Iranian Flora and Vegetation from a Nevada Botanist's Perspective.

April 2006:

Henderson regular meeting (April 3rd). Patrick Leary, Professor of Biological Sciences at the Community College of Southern Nevada will present Recognizing the Poaceae of the Spring Mountains: a Workshop to Learn the Salient Features for Identifying Our Common Grasses.
Reno, Rare Plant Committee meeting (April 6th). Nevada Rare Plant Workshop in Reno. Contact Jim Morefield (775-684-2902; jdmore [at] heritage [dot] nv [dot] gov) for more information.
Reno regular meeting (April 6th). Anna Thompson, botany instructor at the Feather River Community College, will speak on Botanizing with Fossil Plants, or PaleoBotany.
Southern Nevada (April 22nd). International Earth Day. Volunteers are needed to help with NNPS participation.
March 2006:

Reno regular meeting (March 2nd). A speaker from the The Sierra Business Council will talk on The New Sierra Nevada Conservancy, and Development vs Preservation in Sierra Valley, Sierra/Plumas Counties, California.
Henderson regular meeting (March 6th). James Andre, Botanist with University of California's Sweeney Granite Mountains Desert Research Center will present The Mojave Desert: A Floristic Frontier in a Conservation Black Hole.
Henderson (March 10th-12th). Community College of Southern Nevada Native Plant Sale.
Las Vegas (March 25th). Annual UNLV Native Plant Sale.

February 2006:

Reno regular meeting (February 2nd). Ann Bollinger, Graduate Student at UNR will give a talk on Vegetation Recovery and Trends after Wildfire on Public Lands in the Orovada Area (northern Humboldt Co.).
Henderson regular meeting (February 6th). Matt Brooks, Research Scientist with US Geological Survey, will give a presentation on Invasive Species and Wildfire Research in the Mojave Desert.
Reno Field Trip Committee meeting (February 9th). The field trip planning committee will meet, and consume a potluck dinner, the evening of February 9th to create the field trip schedule for 2006. If interested in attending, please contact Bonnie Larsen at 972-0583. John Reid has agreed to be field trip chair with Bonnie this year, and Janet Bair will be keeping the meeting notes on her laptop. We look forward to a productive meeting and a great potluck dinner.
January 2006:

Reno annual Board Meeting (Thursday, January 26th). Dinner and refreshments will be provided. The meeting will be held at Arnold Tiehm’s house; please notify him if you plan on attending, 775-329-1645, atiehm [at] unr [dot] edu
