Reno regular meeting (November 6th). Susan Mortenson (graduate student) and Dr. Peter Weisberg of UNR will speak on River Management & Tamarisk Invasion in the southwestern U.S.

Reno regular meeting (May 1st). Jim Morefield, Nevada Natural Heritage Program, will give a talk entitled A Botanical Expedition to China During and After Tiananmen Square.
Henderson regular meeting (May 5th). US Geological Survey staff will present a talk titled: Understanding the habitat requirements of the endangered Amargosa niterwort (Nitrophila mohavensis).
April 2008:

Reno regular meeting (April 3rd). Jason Alexander, recent Ph.D. graduate from Oregon State University, will speak about new and interesting findings from recent Astragalus field work in Nevada.
Henderson regular meeting (April 7th). Bob Morris will present information about the Nevada Cooperative Extension Service and their Master Gardeners’ program.

Southern Nevada (April 19th). International Earth Day. We will have a booth at the fifth annual Summerlin Earthfaire on Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Summerlin Centre Community Park, 1800 South Town Center Drive (between Sahara and Charleston), Las Vegas. The event will feature live musical entertainment, interactive displays, children’s environmental art and learning activities, food, and exhibits.
March 2008:

Henderson regular meeting (March 3rd). Dr. David Charlet will present his work cataloging the distribution and ecology of the conifers of Nevada, soon to be released in a second edition of The Conifers of Nevada.
Reno regular meeting (March 6th). Beth Leger, Professor of Plant Ecology at UNR will give a presentation entitled Can native plants fight back? Evolutionary response to cheatgrass invasion.
